50th edition of World Championship, Benin as a host

As general information the Republic of Benin was formerly known as Dahomey, it is a country in West Africa.
Benin’s petanque team, winner of the Nations Cup, honores the continent at this international game, proving the passion the country and the players to obtain outstanding results in this sport.

By the way, It was the Only African country on the podium in Spain 2021 (Santa Susana world championship).
In addition, Benin became world champion of the pétanque nations against Luxembourg in the final. It is not surprising that they will host the organization of the world petanque championships in December 2022.

Benin will receive around 48 countries from the 5 continents for these world championships at Cotonou, the capital of the country.
